DAGOBA ::Initially, in CEYLON as well as in other countries followers of
HINAYANA Buddhism, the “stûpa” was only a mound containing the
remainders of Buddha or other saints. Later on, the “stûpa” lost its
role as reliquary to become a symbol of the BUDDHIST culture. |
